Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q When do I pay for the service of my watch?

We will only ever ask for payment after your watch has been serviced and has successfully completed the testing process. Once payment is received, your watch will be shipped back to you via Royal Mail (fully insured up to £20,000).

  • Q Why does a watch need to be serviced?

Over time, the oil that ensures the proper functioning of your watch, as well as the seals that protect your watch from moisture and dust entering the case, can degrade. This may result in the poor performance of your watch or the risk of significant water damage.

  • Q How often should I get my watch serviced?

We recommend that you have your watch serviced every 3-5 years. The time can vary due to your wearing habits, lifestyle and what conditions the watch is subjected to. For example, a professional divers watch that is worn daily in all conditions and worn while diving or swimming, should have its seals checked on an annual basis.

  • Q How much does it cost to service a watch?

This will greatly depend on the brand and work required. Please kindly look at starting prices which can be found here.

  • Q Will you estimate before completing any work?

Unless a pre-approval was given, an estimate will always be provided prior to proceeding with any work. In some cases, we may contact you and re-estimate, as during disassembly of your watch we may discover that further work is necessary, which was not identified during a simple inspection on receipt.

  • Q What if I don’t want to proceed with the estimate?

If you decide not to proceed with the estimated work, we will return the watch back to you via Royal Mail (fully insured up to £20,000) at a cost of £25.00.

  • Q How long will it take to service my watch?

We will endeavour to service your watch within 4 weeks of receiving your approval. Delays to this timeframe may occur as a result of spare part availability but we will always update you.

  • Q How do I get my watch to you?

Please send your watch securely packaged via Royal Mail special delivery and ensure your contact details are included.

  • Q Are you able to replace the battery in my watch?

Yes, we are able to replace the battery on all wristwatches as well as checking for water resistance through our specialist equipment.

  • Q What guarantee is given on any completed work?

We provide a 2 year guarantee on all work completed.
